Windows 8 leak hints at SMS support !



Windows Phone 7 is still miles away from the Android and iOS platforms, but that does not mean Microsoft is going to give up on their endeavors so soon. Well, it seems that there is the latest leaked build of Windows 8 that has rolled out, showing off a metro-inspired virtual keyboard alongside additional code traces which could deliver SMS 3G-enabled Windows 8 devices.

Buried deep inside the Windows 8 code, Microsoft’s enthusiasts are able to check out strings which might hint at a Windows App store, alongside the ability to activate or deactivate certain OS features via that store. This could very well be the end of “Home,” “Pro,” and “Ultimate” editions of Microsoft’s flagship product, what do you think? You can check it out in further detail in a video after the jump.

An App store and feature licensing, however? That's interesting. Buried in the Windows 8 code, Microsoft enthusiasts have found strings that may hint at a Windows App store, and the ability to activate or deactivate certain OS features through that store. Will this be the end of "Home," "Pro," and "Ultimate" editions of Microsoft's flagship product? We wouldn't hold our breath. Still, Windows à la Carte doesn't sound half bad.
