Install CyanogenMod 9 on Samsung Galaxy Y S5360
The budget smartphone Samsung Galaxy Y, this smartphone is designed for the people who wants to experience smartphone at a price of the ordinary JAVA or Symbian phones. The Galaxy Y comes with Android 2.3.6 that is Gingerbread. The Folks at XDA developers were working very hard to bring this output, the CyanogenMod ROM firmware is now introduced for the Galaxy Y S5360 which provides you the experience like Ice-cream sandwich.

Prerequisite: These steps that we are going to provide are only for this model of phone you cannot use these steps on any other device, if you will use then your device with get harmed only.
The first thing you have to make sure your phone is charged at least 80% to 85% before you are doing this installation otherwise your phone will get switch off in between the process of installation or this update may cause a serious harm to your device or mobile
Make sure you backup all your stuff backup all your important files like music, videos, photos, apps, call log, messages etc, backup all your data from your MicroSD card.
Make sure a tick on USB Debugging on your device or Mobile. If you don’t know how to do that below is simple instructions for you Go to Setting >> Applications>>Development>> USB Debugging by following these simple steps you will enable USB debugging.
Also Make sure that you disable all the antivirus and Kies because they will clutter in this installation or update.

- root your galaxy y and install clockworkmod recovery[guide].(if you have already done it,you can skip this step)
- Download the cm9 Rom file to your computer or laptop from the link here.
- Also you need to download Google Apps if you are not having it already.
- Now you need to send the file to your memory card that you recently downloaded to your computer in previous steps.
- Switch off your phone and disconnect it from your computer.
- Enter in Clockworkmod recovery .After you enter into clockworkmod, perform a full data wipe.
- Go for mount and storage and Mount system.
- Now go back and choose ‘Flash ZIP from SD card’. To select and option you have to click the power button.
- Select the ‘choose zip from SD card’ option. Now select the cm9 Rom zip file that you copied earlier on you device on previous steps After you select the ROM file the installation will start.
- After you select the ROM file the installation will begin. It will take 5-10 minutes to finish after installation finishes go to “+++++Go Back” and then reboot your handset by selecting “ Reboot Device Now”.
